Deportation to Morocco an Amazigh activist
The Moroccan Amazigh activist Khalid Zirari was arrested Saturday in Algeria for participation in an unauthorized march and will be repatriated to Morocco shortly, said Sunday in Rabat, the Algerian Interior Minister, Dahou Ould Kablia.
Mr. Zirari who “came into Algeria as a tourist, took part in an unauthorized march, organized by a movement calling for the separation of a part of the Algerian territory. He was arrested and should have, by the acts he committed, be brought to justice, “said the Algerian minister, responding to a question about the conditions of arrest and the fate of the Moroccan activist during a press briefing after the meeting of the Council of Interior Ministers of the countries of the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU).
Ould Kablia assured that “instructions have been given for it to be put on the first plane” to Morocco.It will, however, prohibits access Algerian territory, the minister said.
Ould Kablia attended the meeting of interior ministers of the AMU, which was held Sunday in Rabat.
